Russian version is justifying hopes
It seems like Russian version is justifying hopes. Recently YakutiaToday.com received a message from Mike Stokes, a U.K. exchange program coordinator.
In 1993 Mike arranged for the group of young people from Yakutsk to stay with local families in Greenock (Near Glasgow in western Scotland) and study at James Watt College, also in Greenock.
"During their 3 months in the UK I spent a lot of time with the group, visiting them in the college and in their host families and generally making sure that they were OK and were enjoying their stay in the UK," Mike wrote.
"Since then I have tried unsuccessfully on many occasions to make contact with any of these young people who wished to retain contacts with the UK but despite trying to contact local politicians etc. I have never heard from any of these young people since I last saw them at Manchester Airport. Is there any way you can help me with this or perhaps suggest other people in Yakutia that I could contact?"
So I post a story about a Yakutian group visited Scotland in 1993. Two days past and we got a message from Vladimir Arinkin, one of those young Yakutians. "I am pleased to hear that Mike still remember us," he said. Than he promised to say other group-mates about Mr. Stoke's wish to keep contact. Sounds good!
