Three Valleys is the innovation technique park established on Feb. 9, 2007 as a new division of Yakutsk State University (YSU).
Three Valleys IT Park Goals:
- developing IT work at Yakutsk State University ,
- establishing technology transfer system,
- enhancing intellectual creation,
- creating conditions for YSU to prepare highly qualified experts in IT and IT management,
- attracting university staff and students to research projects,
- increasing additional incomes for the university,
- attracting investments to university research projects.
Three Valleys IT Park is supposed to:
- develop IT products;
- support business undertakings in high-end technology with the use of regional advantages like lowest winter temperatures, permafrost, unique flora & fauna, culture, mammoth findings, etc.
- establish the system of distributing IT products among regional economy participants (state or private enterprises).
- create and maintain training centers with majors in IT and intellectual assets management.
The IT park is also designed to stimulate the export of intellectual creation to external market through Internet.
At first, Three Valleys plans to launch the following projects: a 3D modeling & computer graphic lab, a web-design studio, a GIS lab, and an IT training center. In the course of 2007 Three Valleys intends to create 10 project groups formed out of students.
The biggest plan is to establish a huge complex based on companies, research & training centers, material resources, and others divisions to make the chain: idea – research – production – selling.
Three Valleys hopes for self-financing. Its projects will be developed at the expense of investors and, maybe, federal and republic governments.
Arsen Tomsky, director of SakhaInternet LCC, is appointed the chief of Three Valleys IT Park.
