PROFILE:
Founded in 2004. That was the year when mountain bikes gained popularity in Yakutsk, the capital of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and when a new movement required good organization. The federation has the purpose to promote and develop cycling n Yakutsk , reinforce physical training among citizens especially young people, and enhance the prestige of Yakutia on national and international scenes.
Major ativity is to arrange competitions, jouney, picnic, and expeditions.
Prefered period: from March till October. No pause at all. Every week-end members ebmark on group jouney.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
The longest bike trip: 930 km , Yakutsk – the Pole of Cold, March of 2005. The longest daytime bike trip: 200 km , Yakutsk – Mokhsogol – Yakutsk , September of 2005.
The longest bike trip by designers: 517 km , Yakutsk – Khandyga, Tomponsky region.
Maximum speed on a straight road: 54.1 km/h , record-holder Forg, bike AUTHOR ZENITH SX.
The highest slope to elevate bikes: 150 m , Kangalassky Cape , June of 2005.
Maximum quantity of mosquitoes found on the back: about 25 per sq. sm, actually it was impossible to count them while getting though Baryllyakh swamp.
Maximum water squeezed after heavy shower: 4 litres during the expedition to Stone Bottom Lake
Lowest temperature to cycle: minus 50 degrees centigrade during New Year Night, Jan. 1, 2004.
