Russia's Boxing Championship 2007 in Yakutsk

Russia's Boxing Championship 2007

Location: 50 Years of Victory Sport Palace, Yakutsk.
Dates: April 30, 2007 – May 9, 2007

For the first time, the capital of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) hosts Russia 's Boxing Championship.

This event is real present to Yakutian boxing fans. Majority says the region deserved to be the champ host. Yakutia is the homeland of Georgy Balakshin ( 51 kg ) who is three-fold European champion, fivefold Russian champion, and, certainly, the hero of Yakutian boys.

Fights actually will start on May 1. 242 boxers are expected to appear on the boxing ring.

Organizers plan to broadcast fights live and project to the huge screen installed on Yakutsk 's central square.

Note: this national championship is the last prior to Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing. So winners are to join Russia 's national team.

The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) was represented by:
