Alternative beauty contest based on online polling has started in Yakutia. This is the eighth time.

Tremendous prizes, honest and democratic winner determination, absolutely new opportunities for pageant participants are the key things that attract the most beautiful young ladies from all the corners of the republic. That's what makes the Internet-based show intriguing, dramatic and splendid to Yakutians and people all over the world.

What's new this time?

There are three innovations.

First, the executive committee decided to diversify visualization. One of submitted pictures must be taken outside a photographic studio, for instance, in nice countryside, in the street, inside a café, a sport building, whatever. This requirement should increase photographer and model's creativity.

Second, no more Internet jury and sms-based polling. Deciding vote belongs to contest site visitors since now.

Finally, the rewarding ceremony will take place in a night club. So it is going to be more exciting and entertaining.

SCHEDULE

Applying: November 24, 2006 - January 30.

Elimination matches: February, 2007. Site visitors are to choose fifteen beauties for the next stage.

Interactive show: the end of February. Chosen ladies will spend two days inside Sterkh Hotel. They will have photo sessions, master classes, and some mini contests. Seeing beauties alive through webcams site visiters must choose five competitors to eliminate and leave ten girls for the final.

Final stage: March of 2007. Ten ladies will participate in various public events to display themselve and earn people's love.

Final polling: March of 2007. Secret vote will be conducted simultaneously to the previous-described activity.

Rewarding ceremony: March 8, 2007.

Online Beauty Contest Winners have been announced on the tonight show in Dragon Night Club in Yakutsk.

Winners had being defined by open online vote by Internet user from Yakutia, Russian cities and other nations.

2007 Miss Virtual Yakutia is 17-year-old Daria Salva. Her porfolio is available on the contest official website.

"Miss Virtual Yakutia" finalist proved to be no girl

One of ten finalists of "Miss Virtual Yakutia" beauty contest proved to be a 25-year-old man. The organizing company "SakhaInternet LLC " that had been holding the contest for a few years said the pics had been received via e-mail. However, in fact Anzhela Adamova was a young man called Oleg Goncharov, who decided to take part in the beauty contest by joke. He went to a stylist and after that made a portfolio at a professional photographer.

As a result of online voting, fake Anzhela Adamova earned 369 votes and got to the final. The "female participant" wrote about herself, "I try to make every step I make in my life bright and exciting not only for me but also for my beloved people. Do you want to learn and see more? Give your vote for me, and I will not disappoint you!" Oleg took one year of age away and wrote Anzhela was 24 years old.

The third stage of the contest starts soon. Ten finalists will be taking part in a hotel reality show. Goncharov will not participate in the contest, as he was disqualified by the organizing committee. The girl listed 11th will get into the final instead.
