Republic celebration of Ysyakh

Date: June 23-24, 2007.
Location: the Ys Khatyn area of Yakutsk.

Devastated by spring flood, the Tatta district is not able to host 2007 Republic Ysyakh. Governmental organizing committee decided to transfer and combine national celebration with Yakutsk's Ysyakh conducted in the Ys Khatyn area annually. The event will be devoted to the 375 th Anniversary of Yakutsk City and Yakutia-Russia Friendship.

Yakut's New Year is to be on June 23-24. 2007 Ysyakh program has been already made up, the city hall reports. The program comprises as many as 60 events. They are horse race, sunrise welcome ceremony, national sports competitions such as The Games of Ancestors and The Games of Dygyn , Yakut national clothes contest, handicrafts trade fair, etc.

Republic contests are to be arranged as well. There are going to be competitions between khomus players, toyuk singers, and olonkhosuts. Shows promise to be bright and tense.

Many tyhylge (national celebration places) will be set up as usual. For instance, by Republic's State Circus, the House of Peoples Friendship, city's areas, republic districts, and diasporas.

Many guests of abroad and other Russian regions are expected to visit 2007 Ysyakh. Hosts are waiting for delegates and participants of The Russian Congress of Peoples , 2007 Futsal World Cup , The Magical World of Eposes Russian Festival, The Culture of the World on the Land of Olonkho International Folklore Festival, 2007 Checkers World Championship , The Union of Historical Cities Congress .

More than 2500 people including 600 dancers will be involved in the grand-opening ceremony of the national holiday.
