About the album
(written by V.Nikiforova, master of art science, translated by N.Poiseeva):
The Sacred Thread of Creation is the Yakut musicians Khatylaevs' first disc which reproduces the imitable masterly style and peculiar spirit of their music. This is not a collection of songs, but it is a conceptually thought out album in where the musicians recreate the sound of Yakuts founding on the aesthetics of archaic music playing.
The Khatylaevs' music casts a spell over a listener by its melodious, rhythmic, timbre resourcefulness and imagination. They appeal to the richest fund of the tradional singing of sakha nation - namely to the part of folklore which is not touched upon by mordern culture. So the Khatylaevs 'rise' the cultural layer which had gone into subconsciousness and dream sphere long ago. The musicians create on the laws of oral traditions, they take an improvisation as a base and rely upon their own intuition and taste.
The disc contains 15 tracks: 1. Heavenly Current. 2. Destination. 3. Contiquity. 4. Eastward. 5. A Singing Man on an Ox. 6. The Native Alaas. 7. Bluetit. 8. Vision. 9. Yakut Motifs. 10. Passion Song. 11. The Song About the Brave Mityai. 12. The Song of a Bride. 13. Thanksgiving Song to the Godness Aiyyhyt. 14. At the Saint Holiday Yhyakh. 15. The Kymys Song.
The sound recorded and mixed by Bert Jickty
