Young Yakutians reserved Brilliant of Russia Awards
Singer Alexander Dyachkovsky-Saaryn and young journalist Nikolay Krivoshapkin became nominees of Brilliant of Russia 1st Open International Variety & Folk Art Contest held on January 6–9, 2007.
The 1st International Variety & Folk Art Contest that hosted participants from Russia, the Baltic, CIS, Europe, and Asia, was arranged with joint efforts of the Russian Arts and Dance Union, Maestro Producer Center, the Russian President's Union of Social Justice, the Russian Union of Writers, Culture TV Station, Nezavisimaya Gazeta National Newspaper, and others.
The contest for young talents had three stages with eight nominations – vocal, choreography, circus arts, fashion, fine arts, photography, journalism, and instrumental music. Yakutians went through first two stages by default to the final.
Saaryn (stage-name) is a Yakutian singer who performs folk songs in modern manner. He is a forth-year student of Yakutsk State University with major in the Yakut philology and culture. He is prizewinner of various international and regional song competitions.
At Brilliant of Russia Saaryn was awarded with the special award “The Brilliant Voice of Russia”. Besides, he earned the opportunity to participate in the popular national competition “ Moscow – Transit – Kazantip” to be held in June of 2007 in the Crimea, Ukraine .
Kolya Krivoshapkin is a third-year student of Yakutsk State University with major in journalism. He reserved the third position in nomination “Young Journalist”.
