Americans to ride by Yakutian rail train

YAKUTSK. Experts of American company General Electrics (G & Rus Ltd) visited the headquarters of Stock Company Zhelezny Dorogi Yakutii (Railway of Yakutia) in Aldan.

In the framework of one-year business cooperation, Americans familiarized themselves with the activity of Zhelezny Dorogi Yakutii , its locomotive depot, and other infrastructure divisions.

Within the next few days, the first diesel locomotive produced in the U.S. and acquired by Zhelezny Dorogi Yakutii in Tobolsk (Russia) according to leasing agreement with Baltic Leasing Company, will arrive to Aldan. By autumn, Zhelezny Dorogi Yakutii is expecting the arrival of two more diesel locomotives that were totally renovated with American spare parts. Latter locomotives were taken on lease from a Kazakhstan partner, Stock Company Kazakhstan Temir Joly .

General Electrics has already sent two containers full of spare parts. GE is also going to supply diagnostic equipments and measuring tools, and provide guarantee maintenance. For that purpose, an expert of G & Rus Ltd will work in Aldan in the course of the following year.

Vasily Shimokhin, Zhelezny Dorogi Yakutii General Director, said that cooperation with a world-renowned company affords to back up the activity of Yakutian railwaymen technically and economically.
