The 15th Anniversary of Yakutian Diamond Cutting Industry

This year the diamond cutting industry of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) celebrates its 15 th anniversary. A new science intensive processing industry deserved an important place in republic economy.

Static data may convey industry's impact. From 1991 till 1994, diamond cutting companies produced brilliants to the amount of 3–9 million USD annually. From 1995 till 1998 the production increased to 26–52 million USD. From 1999 till 2005 it makes 100–235 million USD.

Today brilliants made in Yakutia are evaluated as triple-excellent. Republic masters produce high quality brilliants of any form. Recently they coped with making technologically complicated cut Rose & Arrows that is in popular demand in Japan and the USA .

On the occasion of the 15 th Anniversary, more than 50 workers of the Yakutian diamond cutting industry – technologists, cutters, estimators, market experts and others – received diplomas and awards from republic government, parliament, and a profile governmental body.
