On August 17, 2006 the President of Yakutia Vyacheslav Shtyrov visited a new diamond pipe of the Nakyn kimberlite ground of Srednemarkhinsky diamondiferous region, where geologists still need to work on.

“This is the first serious discovery for past years,” said the head of the republic. The significance of the event is the appeared opportunity of opening a new diamond pipe here. It is going to be very crucial progress since ALROSA has set a task to reproduce raw minerals.

According to Vyacheslav Shtyrov, Nyurbinsky region is perspective in terms of diamond mining and possible abundant mineral resources. “Once again I make sure that I was right when I insisted upon doubling or even trebling ALROSA's exploration work because I was sure of having results,” said the president of the republic.
