Kiril Androsov:
"Yakutia developed the high-quality plan for collocation of productive forces"

MOSCOW. Kirill Androsov, deputy minister of economic development and trade of the Russian Federation, exposed plans and activity in regards to East Russia – Siberia and the Far East.

According to Kirill Androsov, the economics of that part will continue to grow and even rapidly. “Those strong sides Siberia has now (especially creative, talented, educated people who live in severe conditions and manage to achieve great results), are the potential that will be eventually used in full measure,” says Androsov. “Everything is available here, except infrastructure. The well-developed infrastructure is required extremely in order to make people use its own technology for to raise the efficiency of mining and processing operations, and the level of exploring new deposits of mineral resources demanded by world market. At present East Russia needs efficacious power industry, new motor roads and railways, additional bridges across rivers, roads for logging industry. The federal authority must take responsibility for that development. ”

The deputy minister stressed that the priority is processing, not mining. The Russian government has the effective financial tool, i.e. the Investment Fund. According to Kirill Androsov, in the course of five years the federal authority intends to launch large-scale projects for regions – Chitinsky, Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk territories, Yakutia, Tuva.

“These initiatives must become the catalyst of further economic growth. In 20 years Siberia will have economics not just enhanced, but of another level, based primarily on knowledge and high technology,” said Androsov.

“As I know, every region, from Sakhalin to South Ural, has minimum two projects developed thoroughly and supported by governors and investors. But I prefer to rest my gaze on Yakutia. This republic started its own development from the laying of economic foundation and elaborated, on my opinion, a very high-quality plan for collocation of productive forces on its territory. The whole existing infrastructure, economic, geological and scientific potentials have been researched and taken into account. President of Yakutia Vyacheslav Shtyrov and his team of economists offered an idea of developing infrastructure in conformity with business demands. In nearest future, I am sure, we'll get many requests for the Investment Fund's support and inclusion of the republic into federal task programs. To me, it is a good example of comprehensive approach to the development of all sectors: oil, gas, coal… The Russian Ministry of Economic Development praises such end-to-end solutions,” underlined the deputy minister.
