Kharyskhal Kids Eco Center has been opened in the area of the Lake Khalahtakh in Kankama Reserve, Central Yakutia. The center is based on children's home #3 and managed by Alexander Pavlov, a senior inspector of local affiliate of the Republic Conservancy Committee.
The Republic Ministry of Nature Protection allotted the material resources of Kankama Reserve to Pavlov's Eco Center for several years use. Picturesque surroundings occurred under young naturalists' control. Now kids have opportunity not only to acquire robust health, rest, swim in crystal river waters, and undertake walking-tours, but also to fish, collect medicinal herbs, learn national customs and traditions, and gain responsible attitude to nature.
The major objectives of Kharyskhal Kids Eco Center are to preserve biological diversity, monitor the ecosystem of the Kankama base, and take nature-conservative measures. In its turn, the Republic Ministry of Nature Protection provides young people woth methodical and practical support. The center and the ministry constantly exchange information of scientific interest.
Having confidence, kids are able to develop their managerial abilities and learn responsibility. The important thing is that they can feel themselves as real masters.
