The construction of World Mammoth Museum in Yakutsk will be launched in 2007

The foundation stone of World Mammoth Museum will be laid in June 2007 when Yakutsk will host 4 th Mammoth Symposium.

The museum will be constructed by the Decree of President of Yakutia under UNESCO's patronage. A museum expert that also specializes in arrangement of international architectural competitions, is expected to arrive in Yakutsk on September 10, 2006. In cooperation with Yakutian architects and scientists, his company works on the draft project of World Mammoth Museum. On September 15, its project will be forwarded to 400 various research institutions for correction.

According to SakhaExpoMammoth Ltd director Vladimir Potapov, the museum should be constructed by 2010. Japan came out in the first raw of sponsors. The neighbor country granted $20,000. 100 million roubles (appr. $3.7 million) earned by the Yukagir Mammoth Exhibition in Japan will be invested in the World Mammoth Museum as well.

It became known that a Yakutian sacred tree Aal Luk Maas will also be a museum attribute as well. On its leaves there will be written people's wishes from all countries where the Yukagir Mammoth Mobile Exhibition will be held. And, of course, the major exhibit is going to be the Yukagir Mammoth.
