Yakutia, Sakha live in Alaska
On New Year's Eve, the Republic Ministry of Nature Protection received an unusual greeting card from Alaska .
The card contained the photo of two 8-month-old musk-oxen – Yakutia and Sakha. The animals named in honor of the republic, were born in Fairbanks University's wild ungulates breeding nursery.
Three years ago, the Ministry of the Nature Protection and the American nursery initiated the fruitful exchange of information on the methods and techniques of wild ungulates breeding, particularly on musk-oxen environment. The first colleagues' meeting took place in 2005.
