Yakutia , South Korea signed cooperation agreement
KHABAROVSK . On October 6, 2006, within the Far East International Economic Forum the representative of Korean National Tourism Organization in Vladivostok and the republic minister of entrepreneurship, tourism development and employment singed tourism cooperation agreement.
Multiple negotiations and KNTO Representative Chun Chje Son's visit to Yakutia foreran the final conclusion of the agreement, said republic minister Anatoly Skrybykin.
The current objective is to set regular flights between Yakutsk and Seoul . Direct flight takes more than three hours. If the route finds a market, other related organizational support will be easily provided, said A. Skrybykin.
Yakutia and South Korea have capacity to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in other fields like economy, education or culture. In regards to tourism, Yakutia is ready to offer exotic tours such as the expedition to the Pole of Cold, observing northern lights, mammoth & “diamond” excursions, ethno & ecotours, river cruises, hunting and fishing.
In its turns, the Republic of Korea may attract Yakutian tourists by educational, linguistic, taekwondo and hiking tours.
Mr. Chun Chje Son ensured that the events offered in the agreement won't remain on paper only, but will be realized in full. He also marked Yakuts and Koreans look alike, however, they don't know each other well yet.
The KNTO representative reminded that South Korea didn't still accustomed to Russian tourists in full measure. Strange though it may seem the key obstacle is language barrier. Further cooperation is supposed to demolish that.
