Govt sees spending 358 bln rbl on Far East devt in 2008-2013
MOSCOW, Mar 28 (Prime-Tass) -- The Russian government expects to invest 358 billion rubles in 2008-2013 in Russia’s Far East, Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref said Wednesday.
Gref said that under the development plan for the Far East prepared by the ministry, 100 billion rubles was earmarked for the city of Vladivostok and 258 billion rubles would be spent in the Far East regions. Investment projects include building gas pipelines, highways and railroads, electric power lines and airport infrastructures.
The money will be spent in 13 regions: the constituent republics of Sakha (Yakutia) and Buryatia; the Jewish, Chukotka, Aga-Buryat and Koryak Autonomous Districts; and the Sakhalin, Chita, Magadan, Kamchatka, Khabarovsk, Primorsky and Amur Regions.
Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov on Wednesday ordered the Economic Development and Trade Ministry to come up with a development strategy for Russia’s Far East for the period until 2025.
