Woman Congress Started

On February 28, 12th Yakutian Women Congress was declared to be opened.

Scientific-practical conference the Position of women in Yakutia: problems and solutions will take place in the House of Government #2. Delegates of the congress will discuss a set of questions: a role of the woman in politics, demographic policy of the state, problems of family, children education, and social support. Well-known politicians, public figures, officers from state organizations and scientific institutions are expected to speak at a meeting. The vice-speaker of the Yakutia's Parliament Ekaterina Nikitina, Minister of Education Feodosiya Gabysheva, Minister of Labour and Social Development Julia Peskovskaja, the Deputy Minister on Youth Policy Angelika Egorova and many others are in the list of lecturers.

Experts will tell the latest news referred to women in Yakutia: their state of health, women criminality prevention, and proliferation of female businesses. In addition, the photo-exhibition of Alexander Nazarov , Women of Yakutia , will start in the House of Press' press-centre on February 28.

On Wednesday, March 1, the delegates of the congress will work in republican ministries and departments and visit some businesses. They will also meet women - deputies of representative bodies of local self-management. The meeting will take place in the State Assembly (Il Tumen) of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

Talks on problems of education, public health services, business, employment, social support, and agriculture are planned on March 2. Plenary session of the XII Congress of Women of the Sakha Republic will be held on March 3 in the building of the State Theatre of Opera and Ballet.

The delegates are planning to realize an extensive cultural and business program during the congress. They will go to the Kaleidoscope of Cultures of Peoples of Yakutia and Declaration of Love concerts. Various shows–programs and dancing evenings Nostalgia will be held for them. The National Center of Woman Medicine is going to offer the delegates useful consultations and inspection from leading physicians of the republic.

Note: over 500 various female organizations work in 35 republic districts nowadays, there are 332 women councils in minor settlements and 138 clubs on mutual interests.
