A countrywoman has given birth to a daughter in a motor boat
18-year-old inhabitant of the Tumul village (Hangalassky District/near Yakutsk ) Darina Solovieva has given birth to the girl directly in a motor boat on the way to a maternity hospital.
Together with the woman in the boat there were a nurse from the next village Tit-Ary, and Tumul High School director Rodion Ivanov who sat at a steering wheel. Childbirth happened in the midst of the Lena River between the settlements of Tumul and Bulgunnyahtah. As soon as the boat has stuck to bank, mother and the newborn have been sent to maternity hospitality. Their health is out of danger. They have been already discharged from hospital.
Neighbors, fellows, and villagers advise mother to name her girl Krymchana (the name derived from the name of the boat motor) or Lena (after the great Siberian river).
