As many as 1,026 dwelling houses were inundated in the villages of Ytyk-Kyuel and Chimnai in the Tatta district of Yakutia. A total of 3,353 people were evacuated from the villages, as of this writing.

These latest data on consequences of the spring floods were received by the press service of the Yakutia branch of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies.

People were evacuated from inundated houses to temporary accommodation points, to relatives and acquaintances whose homes the spring floods have not reached. Ministry rescuers are on duty at the two villages. They render necessary aid to the population, monitor changes in the situation and the water level.

In the meantime, the second wave of spring floods swept across the Aldan River. It is expected that the water level near the village of Ust-Mil will be at 14.5 meters, while the critical level stands at 15 meters. The Aldan also threatens the villages of Belchachi, Ust-Maya, Elidikan and Batamai. The second flood wave reaches the Lena River with a delay. A water rise above critical levels is not predicted there.
