Tu-154, An-24 make emergency landing due to engine troubles
Two passenger planes made emergency landings at airports in Yakutia on Friday.
A Tu-154 of ALROSA-Avia landed safely at Mirny at about 22:00 local time. The liner was on a Mirny-Moscow flight. Due to troubles of one of the engines, the pilots decided to return to the departure airport, where the plane landed after running out of fuel. None aboard was hurt. Mirny airport sources told Itar-Tass passengers from the airliner departed by another plane for Moscow in three hours and 30 minutes.
An An-24 of the Yakutia airline made an emergency landing at Yakutsk airport. The plane was on a Yakutsk-Ust-Nera flight. The crew head reported controllers in 50 minutes after the takeoff that both engines worked unstably and that he decided to return to Yakutsk. The plane landed safely. Nobody of the passengers and the crew was hurt.
Technical specialists are investigating the causes of the incidents.
