The Yakutian cyclists finished a long-distance expedition to Baikal lake. The total run is 800 km. The journey lasted from July 25, 2006 till August 11, 2006. The trip was mainly done on the territory of Buryatia and Irkutsk oblast. |

On August 7, 2006 the European Junior International Checkers Championship completed in Tallinn, Estonia. Yakutians players defending Russia did first-rate work. They won three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze, Yakutia-Sakha News Agency informed on Aug. 10. |

A bicycle journey to Baikal Lake
On July 25, 2006 a group of 9 cyclists started their long journey from the central square of Yakutsk to Baikal Lake. Trip will take approximately tree weeks. Total distance is about 800 km. The team consists of 7 males and 2 females. They have good calisthenics and two-year travel experience. |

The Planet of Mongolia conquered
Shintop Trophy: the Planet of Mongolia is the expedition originated and arranged by Vladivostok Off-road Vehicles Club. On June 1, adventurers finished the three-week long distance run in Ulan Bator . For the second time, Yakutian off-road drivers scored the best result and won the race. |

SPAIN , May 20 – Concentrat Futsal Team, of Nerungri/Yakutia, won the Cup of European Champions, the most prestige tournament on the continent. Concentrat FC defeated Promosione Kartahena ( Spain ) with score 3:2. |
