Three gold trophies from Europe

On August 7, 2006 the European Junior International Checkers Championship completed in Tallinn, Estonia. Yakutians players defending Russia did first-rate work. They won three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze.

Gold medallists are a Russian female champion Matrena Nogovizyna, Marfa Danilova, and Alexander Safonov.

A Yakutsk secondary school student Nikolay Germogenov who had won the World International Checkers Championship among Cadets in past July, deserved a silver medal. Nurguyana Azarova became a bronze medallist.

Today, all of them received flaming welcome at the airport of Yakutsk.
