Yakutian kickboxers are world champs
Yakutians Kliment Fedorov and Ksenia Pak won gold medals at the 6th WAKO World Kickboxing Championship for Juniors held in the city of Zadar, Croatia, from 26th September to 1st October, 2006.
According to the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations, the junior championship had 1025 competitors, representing 43 nations from 5 continents.
Kliment Afanasiev competed in low kick discipline among junior men in 51 kg category. He had four fights. To reach the final, he beat opponents from Kyrgyzstan , Portugal , Bosnia & Herzegovina. Afterwards he overcame a Croat Nikola Habus.
Ksenia Pak succeeded in low kick among junior women 56 kg. In final she beat Jasmina Pobrkalic, of Bosnia & Herzegovina .
Coach Sergei Egorov says now Klim and Ksenia are preparing for next world tournament, but this time they are ready to try their luck with adult competitors.
