Long cycling from Verkhoyansk to Yakutsk
VERKHOYANSK. Eight local adventurers are to start long cycling on the route Verkhoyansk – Khandyga – Yakutsk on April 10, 2007.
Cyclists intend to overcome 1500 km for 15 days, says Vitaly Mironov, expedition leader. Mr. Mironov is the chief of Verkhoyansk Environment Committee. In the republic he is also known as a skier and extreme tourism promoter.
To reach Yakutsk on April 24, travelers have to cross the Verkhoyansky range, the territories of Tomponsky, Tattinsky, Churapchinsky, and Megino-Kangalassky regions. On the way of travel, they plan to tell accounted people about the city of Verkhoyansk , its history, life, unique nature, natural parks, and city-dwellers.
With long cycling, the adventure team wishes to popularize healthy lifestyle.
