A lead singer with Yakutia's Suorun Omallon State Opera and Ballet Theater. Her name is a household name in the republic, her youthful talent making her the darling of the local opera lovers. Aitalina has apparently inherited her strong penchant for the theater, amazing acting talent and devotion to her chosen profession from her parents, sister and brother – professional actors all. On top of that all, Aitalina is a real beauty, elegant, flexible and formidable stage presence.
Despite her young age, Adamova is already a People's Artist of the Republic and a proud third place winner of the 1994 Juliano Gayarre international singers competition in Pamplona , Spain . In 1995 Jose Garreras invited her on a tour of several Spanish cities and in 1999 Aitalina became the winner of the Leonid Sobinov international competition in Saratov , Russia , and bowed out with the second place award of the 16 th Canegli international competition in Sulmona , Spain . In 2000 Aitalina Adamova won the third prize and listeners' prize singing in the 12 th Boris Khristov international contest in Sofia , Bulgaria . Finally, she gained her biggest award winning the 12th Tchaikovsky international competition in Moscow in 2002.
All these impressive wins stem from Aitalina's big talent and her good training too. After graduating from the singers' department of the M.Zhirkov music college in Yakutsk , where she studied with P.Krivoshapkin, Aitalina entered the M.Mussorgsky Conservatory in the Urals joining the class of Merited Artist of the Russian Federation , Professor S.Zaliznyak. Winning a Sergei Rakhmanoff competition they held right in college, Aitalina then moved on to debut singing the part of Tuiaara Kuo in the Nurgun Bootur the Nimble opera written by M.Zhirkov and G.Litvinsky and staged by Merited Artist of Yakutia and winner of State Prizes of the USSR and the Russian Federation, A.Borisov, winning the republic's “discovery of the year” nomination. She sang Azucena's part in the Troubadour opera by G.Verdi at the Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theater as part of her graduation work. Between 1995 and 1997 the rising star of the Russian opera continued her training as a postgraduate student at her alma mater.
A holder of the Vozrozhdenje Fund scholarship instituted by Yakutia's first President Michael Nikolaev, Aitalina Adamova is also a winner of the New Names international charity program and has her name written down in the New Names of the 20 th Century – to the 21 st Century Golden Book. With a team of fellow Yakut scholarship holders Aitalina has repeatedly performed in Switzerland , Austria and Japan . In 1994 Aitalina attended master classes given by the legendary Grace Bambry (Mozarteum, Salzburg ), getting back home energized and bubbling with new ideas. Winning a rigid selection in 2000, Aitalina Adamova signed with the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg where she is now honing her skills with the theater's Young Opera Singer's Academy.
Aitalina's repertoire is as extensive as it is diverse including the parts of Carmen from G.Bizet's opera of the same name, of Magdalena for Rigolleto by G.Verdi, of Suzuki from Madame Butterfly by J.Puccini, of Marina Mnisek of Boris Godunov by M.Mussorgsky, of Lyubasha from Czar's Bride by N.Rimsky-Korsakov, of Olga from Evegeny Onegin by P.Tchaikovsky, a solo part from Requiem by G.Verdi and accidental operatic arias ad chamber peaces by foreign, Russian and Yakut composers.
The name Aitalina, which means “a creative one”, fits this young and fast-rising star of Yakut opera just perfectly. She has come a long way but she still has a long way to go and we hope that her tracks recorded in 1999 will take you on a fascinating trip into the fairy-tale world of music created by the talent and mastery of the inimitable Aitalina Adamova.
