A track-and-field athlete.

Alyona was born in Verkhnevilyuisk in 1990, November 12. She has been going in for track-and-field athletics since she was 12. She goes to school №17 and trains in Yakutsk Infant and Teenager Sport School (ITSS) # 5.

She's got several gold medals of different national and republic youth competitions. In 2005 Alyona won a 1500-metre distance at the Russian championship and joined youth national team.

First coach: Gennady A. Nikolayev, of Verkhnevilyuisk.

First competition: the Republican School Championship that took place near Khatassy. In a 500-metre distance she came last but one.

First medal. She won it at the competition among central republic districts that took place in the Bordon village (Suntarsky district).

Start in life. When Alyona won silver at the Republican Championship 2003, Dmitry Kolesov, chief coach of republic youth team, pointed her out. As result, she entered the ITSS–5 in autumn. There she began to go with track-and-field athletics more serious.

Track-and-field athletics forever. Next year Uznayeva will change her age group and will compete among the elders. The girl runs on the different distances: 60, 500, 1500, 2000, 3000 meters . In this age she is looking for the most suitable distance for her. Alyona herself says that she likes to run at 1500 meters .

Main rivalries. At national level, the major rival is Natalia Lagutenkova, of Saransk . At the Russian championship Alyona yielded her just 0,3 second. At republic level, they are Anastasia Ivanova and Natalia Leontyeva.

Think more about time. If we compare Uznayeva's results in the same distance, we can mark the differences. The results depend on the place where the competitions take place: inside or outside. Rivalries make influence a lot as well. Competing with the strong ones she reveals good results, competing with the weak she can win the race but loose the competitions.

Defeats. Unfortunately, defeats are a part of sport, as well as victories. Uznayeva says “It's better to loose on centisecond, than in decilesecond.” But also it is more hurtful. Alyona tries not to be upset for a long time.

Maneuver. Surely, it depends on the distance. In a 60-metre distance you just have no time for maneuvers, you just run and run. 1500-metre distance is another case. Here you can point out the main rivalries, you can let somebody go ahead, and then you'll draw ahead of him at the decide moment.

Inside or outside. What better? Alyona answers "I like more the riding hall. It does not depend on weather. You know exactly, that there won't be any downfalls or wind. Though the hall in Penza was very cold, that was unpleasant either."
