Virtuosos of Yakutia Violinists Choir

In short:

Virtuosos of Yakutia is the ensemble of young violinists supported by the regional government and fostered in the Republic Children Hight Music School, near Yakutsk.

The choir has state status. It has scholarships of Children of Sakha-Asia Fund and Barharyy Revival Fund.

Last years Virtuosos of Yakutia has being honored with attributes ‘brilliant', ‘unique', ‘successful', ‘able to perform the most compound, complicated compositions', etc. Many music experts mark its high level of choir technique and virtuosity, spirits and artistry.

“Yakutian children play and sound like a Big Violin of the Bolshoi Theatre directed by Yuri Reentovich,” says Vladislav Pjavko, vice-president of International Musicians Union, national artist of the USSR .

“The choir is the proud of the Russian art,” says Edward Gratch, professor of Moscow State Conservatory, national artist of the USSR .

Today Virtuosos of Yakutia consists of 12 young violinists. Most of them have already become prize-winners and laureates of such big competitions as “The Violin of the North” (Yakutia), the Open Young Violinists Contest ( Novosibirsk ), “New Names” ( Moscow ).

The choir is directed by L. Gabysheva, honoured artist of the Sakha Republic , and S. Afanasenko , honoured art worker of the republic. The concertmaster is N.Petrova, winner of various international competitions.

Since 1996 Virtuosos of Yakutia arranges an annual concert in Moscow . Young violinists gave performance on stages of the Moscow Conservatory, Chaikovsky Concert Hall, Kremlin Armory Museum , the Bolshoi Theatre, the Russian Culture Fund, Pushkin Museum , and in many foreign embassies.
