Food Industry

The share of output in the industrial production volume is 2.1 per cent. The main areas of food industry specialization are the production of milk, meat, and fish products of various levels of processing, alcoholic and soft drinks. The largest companies of the industry are Yakutia FAIC, Yakutsk KhleboCombinat SUE, Yakutsk GorMolZavod JSC.

In 2004 provisions are produced in 4.9 billion rubles with growth in 8.2 per cent to 2003. Production development of whole milk production in 13 per cent, oil in 15 per cent, sausage goods in 60 per cent, marketable food fish production in 2 per cent increased. New production capacities on milk procession (8.4 thousand tons per year), wild plant (180 tons), soft drink and plain water provided with positive dynamics.
