The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is 2000 km long from north to south and 2500 km long from west to east.
Autoroads The length of roads in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is 21770 km , including 19689 km of general use roads, including 2081 km of federal and 19.4 thousand km of regional roads. 600 km (2.8 of general use roads have an improved covering; 7499 km 33.4) have a hard covering. The main roads are: Big Never Yakutsk (Lena), Yakutsk Magadan (Kolyma), Yakutsk Nyurba Mirny (Vilyi), Yakutsk Amga Ust-Maya Yugorenok ( Amga ). In 2004 the capacity of passenger transportations arranged 95361,7 thn people, transported 4269,5 thn tn of cargo.
Railroads The length of used railroads in general use in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) amounts to 490 km , including Berkakit Tommot railway area spread on 360 km which has been put into temporary operation in 2004. The Berkakit Tommot Yakutsk railroad is being constructed, which will set up reliable transport communications in north - east of Russia and will substantially decrease the expenses of cargo delivery. The amount of transported passengers in 2004 is 194000 people and 1865.6 thousand tons of cargo.
Airports The airport network of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) includes 33 airports, two of which two are of federal importance ( Yakutsk , Tiksi). Air companies transported total in year of 2004 194 thousand passengers and 11865.6 thousand tons of cargo.
River transport The total length of internal navigable waters in general use in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) amounts to 16,743 km . The principle waterways of the Republic are the Lena, the Vilyuy, the Aldan, the Kolyma, the Indigirka, and the Yana .. The sea transportation is made by NSR (Tiksi, Nizhneyansk and Bykovsky ports). The navigation period starts in May, ends in October by the Lena river. In rivers Indigirka, Yana, and Kolyma the navigation exists in period from June to October. People and cargo transported total in year of 2004 120 thousand passengers and 2649.5 thousand tons of cargo.
Sea and river ports There are six river ports ( Yakutsk , NijneYansk, Belogorsk, Lensk, Olyokminsk, Khandyga), two sea ports (Tiksi and Zelenomyssk). In 2004 cargo transported 243,7 thn. tn. |
