The Nomadic Schools in Sakha-Yakutia

The development center of nomadic educational institutions of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) (DCNEI of SR(Y)) is an organizatioaln department of public institution “The research institute of national schools of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia)” is created in the framework of UNESCO project realization "Assistance to distribution of literacy among the students belonging to indigenous people by strengthening the potential of communal education system of the North nomadic people of the Republic Sakha (Yakutia)".

The basic purpose of creation of DCNEI of SR(Y) is coordination of nomadic educational institutions activity, municipal education office, lower office of Ministry of Education of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) to realize the Concept of educational institutions system and to introduce the nomadic educational institutions models.

The DCNEI of SR(Y) is guided by the present Position, by the Charter of the research institute of national schools, acts about education and a science, protection of the children and youth rights and interests of the Russian Federation and the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

The DCNEI of SR(Y) is to promote creation and development of a nomadic educational institutions network of republic; to maintenance of qualitative education availability to the North children; to increase the status and efficiency of teaching and educational activity at nomadic schools; to revival and preservate a traditional way of life of the North indigenous small people; to develope a creative potential and increase an activity of the pedagogical workers who borrowed in sphere of nomadic schools education.

The DCNEI of SR(Y) participates in creation of information bank of nomadic educational institutions; in projects development of the state special programs, normative and legal documents and the information-methodical recommendations that adjusts the activity of nomadic schools; coordinates activity of nomadic schools; spends approbation of methodical complete sets in languages of the North indigenous small people; organizes remote leaning, research and creative activity of pupils and teachers of nomadic schools and summer camps; spends quality monitoring of education; holds seminars and regional, republican Olympiads on native languages; creates Association of children-reindeer breeders of Siberia, the North and the Far East; prepares analytical materials.

The DCNEI of SR(Y) functioning and development maintenance is provided from budgetary appropriations of the Research institute of national schools, the state special program of education development of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and the UNESCO project "Assistance to distribution of literacy among the students belonging to indigenous people by strengthening the potential of communal education system of the North nomadic people of the Republic Sakha (Yakutia)".
