Tuymaada International Summer School

In 1993 the Ministry of Education of Yakutia made a decision to open the Summer School. Later it was developed into the International Summer School «Tuymaada». Today this is one of the directions that was decided upon by the Ministry of Education aimed at arousing the abilities of gifted children in the field of computer technology, mathematics, chemistry, physics and for eign languages. The Summer School was created within the frame work of the presidential program «Gifted Children» and appealed to assist in revealing and developing talented pupils. Eventually this data will make it possible to analyze the equivalence of the education provided by the Russian educational system and global educational systems.

Educational quality management is carried out through sys tematic plans for educational activity. This system of educa tion based on a special five-department elaboration of scientif ic departments (physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer technology, science and foreign languages). All educational problems are decided on by five departments. Educational process goes along with original curricula and programs. Children are instructed by means of dialogue methods, modern information technologies are applied, master-classes of scien tists and leading teachers of Yakutia and Russia are being engaged in.

An integral part of the educational process is studying two for eign languages under the program of international school that promotes free dialogue of participants of the Olympiad and essen tially supplements their knowledge and skills.

In addition, students are offered various alternatives, i.e. study history, culture and literature of England, Scotland, Belgium, France, Korea and Japan, as well as sign up for special courses on national cultures and are taught in English. This is due to the state-of-the-art in computer engineering.

Language training and education under the GGE program of «A-Level» in a royal group of schools of the English language in Oxford, London, Bournemouth, James Vatt college of advanced education in Scotland, Abbey College (England), College of «Du Leman» (Switzerland) came into practice.

Teachers from England , Scotland , the USA , Belgium , Canada , Korea are invited to work in the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

Aesthetic education has been drawing much attention as well as physical training, forming a healthy way of life for the pupils. The extensive program of productive leisure includes excursions, museums, evenings with friends, Scottish dances, national kitchen competitions, asphalt drawings, football and basketball championships, thematic discos, debates, mutual interests circles...

Years pass, students come and go, participants, prize-winners and winners vary, but there remains a profound feeling of loyalty towards the School, the Olympiad movement, prestige of knowl edge. International Summer School «Tuymaada» which has dispatched into the world numerous highy-talented young people.
