Emblem
National emblem of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) accentuates historical succession of its people.
In the centre of a silver circle, symbolizing the Sun, we see a depiction of an ancient horseman holding a banner. That's a rock painting founding in the Lena River cliffs).
In the upper part of the Sun disk there is a traditional ornamental pattern consisting of seven dark-blue diamond-shaped crystals, which stand for diamonds, the main wealth of Yakutia soil.
Flag
National flag of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) represents a strip, consisting of five elements: four colour stripes and a white circle in the middle of the flag.
The colour range corresponds to that of the Russian Federation National flag and symbolizes the unbreakable union of Yakutia and Russia.
National flag colours reflect natural, climatic and ethnic features of the Sakha Republic. The white Sun on a blue patch stands for continuity of generations, respect for traditional world-view of the Sakha people, considering themselves to be "children of the white Sun". White for austere beauty of the North, purity of mind that local hard-working people have. Green for vast expanses of taiga, Yakutia's short but fruitful and hot summer, friendship and richness of people. Red for loyalty to native land and tribute to preceding generations.
